PLAYING WITH A CADDY
A Great way to help your golfer with becoming more comfortable on the course is to have a caddy. This caddy could be anyone that is at least 18 years old but usually it is Mom or Dad. There are currently two tours in the Milwaukee area that allow caddies which are the U.S. Kids Tour, and the Under Armour Tour. These tours are in the Spring, Summer or Fall.
The first option is the Under Armour Tour.
If you are thinking having a caddy is great, but my child isn't ready to play 400-yard par 4s yet, don't you worry. Each group will play from an age-appropriate distance making it much more manageable. This tour does push signing up for all 6 events as a package but sometimes will allow golfers to sign up in smaller packages of events.
They will hand out medals for the top 3 scores in each age group, 3 for the girls and 3 for the boys.
Golfers receive Under Armour merchandise provided at our League, National & World events
Regions will each host six 9-Hole Individual Stroke Play League Matches on Weekend afternoons
Golfers are divided into 4 age divisions separated by Boys and Girls.
Athletes 6-8 years old
Athletes 9-11 years old
Athletes 12-14 years old
Athletes 15-18 years old.
The Top 6 Players in each age group meeting scoring average requirements advance to the National Championship.
The Next option is the U.S. Kids Golf Tour. You most likely have seen or have some of their equipment, but they also have a great tour for the kids to play in. You will have the option to play in as many or as few of the events as you want, while this tour will give out medals for the top five players. One difference between these two tours is as you get older, you will start to play 18 holes vs always only playing 9. This tour also can have a season in the Spring, Summer and Fall, but currently just Spring and Fall.
An exciting part of this tour can be trying to achieve a high priority status. This simply means how likely you are to get invited to play in the many tournaments they host around the world and trust me, you will get invited to some crazy places all over the world.
